Ed Roper EFIAP

 Ed  joined Wigan 10 in 1988. 

About: Ed is is one of the Founder Members of Wigan 10 and was there at the first meeting 26 years ago. He has now retired from being an active member of Wigan 10, but is a lifetime honorary member.

Hobbies: His hobbies are photography, gardening and an interest in steam trains. 

History: He spent his working life in education being a Primary School Headteacher for 32 years. At the age of 16 he started photography with a Zeiss 35mm camera and subsequently moved to Pentax and then Canon cameras. He also joined a Camera Club at this age and has been a member of Atherton ADPS, South Manchester CC, Chorlton PS, Wigan PS and more recently Wigan 10. In addition he has supported the L&CPU, initially as a lecturer and judge and then supporting the work on the L&CPU Website for 10 years. In 1999 he became a Life Member of the L&CPU. 

What Ed has to say: Photography is a hobby which can introduce you to many differing photographic opportunities and the chance to meet many different people, places and events. With the digital age these can easily be shared with other people in other parts of the world.
